چکیده

Mathematical programming, and above all, the multi-objective scheduling problems stand as remarkably versatile tools, highly useful for optimizing health care services. In this context, present work is designed to put forward two-fold mixed integer linear programs, simultaneously integrating objectives of minimizing patients? total waiting flow time, while doctors' work-load variations. For purpose, three major health-care system intervening actors are considered, namely, patients, doctors machines. To best our knowledge, such an issue does not seem be actually addressed in relevant literature. end, we opt implementing appropriate lexicographic method, whereby, effective solutions enabling minimize performance two-objective functions could used solve randomly generated small cases. models study have been resolved using CPLEX software. Then, results comparatively assessed terms both CPU times. A real laser-treatment case study, involving a set diabetic retinopathy patients ophthalmology department Habib Bourguiba Hospital Sfax, Tunisia, helps illustrating practicality advanced approach. resolve treated problem, use heuristics which compared first-come first-served rule. We find that program based on second formulation with time-limit provided solution time.

A Survey of Algorithms for Single and Multi-objective Unrelated Parallel-machine Deterministic Scheduling Problems

This paper surveys the literature related to solving traditional unrelated parallel-machine scheduling problems. It compiles algorithms for the makespan, total weighted sum of completion times, maximum tardiness, total tardiness, total earliness and tardiness, and multiple criteria performance measures. The review of the existing algorithms is restricted to the deterministic problems without se...

A multi-objective mathematical model for production-distribution scheduling problem

With increasing competition in the business world and the emergence and development of new technologies, many companies have turned to integrated production and distribution for timely production and delivery at the lowest cost of production and distribution and with the least delay in delivery. By increasing human population and the increase in greenhouse gas emissions and industrial waste, in...

Using column generation to solve parallel machine scheduling problems with minmax objective functions

In this paper we consider the parallel machine scheduling problem of minimizing an objective function of the minmax type, like maximum lateness, subject to release dates, deadlines, and/or generalized precedence constraints. We use a destructive strategy to compute a lower bound. Here we test the feasibility of a decision problem by applying column generation to compute a bound on the number of...

Multi-Objective Unrelated Parallel Machines Scheduling with Sequence-Dependent Setup Times and Precedence Constraints

This paper presents a novel, multi-objective model of a parallel machines scheduling problem that minimizes the number of tardy jobs and total completion time of all jobs. In this model, machines are considered as unrelated parallel units with different speeds. In addition, there is some precedence, relating the jobs with non-identical due dates and their ready times. Sequence-dependent setup t...
